I am a voiceover artist, sound mixer/sound designer, and drummer. I began my career in sound playing drums at age 10, first by taking private lessons, and then by joining all of the school bands that I could. Drumming provided my escape, my social life, and my artistic outlet. While attending Ithaca College, I began taking music and sound engineering classes, while also continuing to play in local bands. This paved the way for further studies in sound design and mixing audio for picture, most notably while collaborating with the school’s film students.
After graduation, I recorded and toured in the UK and Europe with my original band, Edge Park, which was based at Peter Gabriel’s “Real World” Studios. Edge Park’s album was recorded in London, and produced by Andy Metcalfe, whose credits include Squeeze and Robin Hitchcock’s band. As a session drummer, I provided drums tracks on hundreds of projects, including those for NBC Sports, CBS Sports, ABC Sports, Omnimusic Production Music Library, and many more. As a professional drummer in New York City, I worked alongside such diverse artists as Mark Wood, Phoebe Legere, Sari, and James McGovern.
Following this on-the-job education, I was hired to record drums on an album that was being produced by a commercial sound engineer. During our conversations, he shed some light on the world of ad agencies, and the opportunities available in creating sound for television commercials. This, in turn, got me involved with voice actors, where I quickly got the bug for stepping behind the mic as often as possible. Here, I honed my skills doing commercial voiceovers, character voices, and corporate videos. This work continues today, as I am fortunate to be active in each of these disciplines.
Currently, I play with many bands, including my original band, The Ludlow Mansion (www.theludlowmansion.com), The Tom Petty Project (www.tpp203.com), Mighty Dan Gerous (www.mightydangerous.com), and U2 Decades (www.u2decades.com). I maintain a private recording studio, where I provide drum tracks for clients, freelance mixes for ad agencies and podcast companies, and record national television voiceover campaigns.
